There is always something humbling about coming back to Texas. In ways, I am so content with the ease and calm that goes with hanging out with old friends and a few beers. On the other hand, I can’t get over this notion that I have changed tremendously since those days we used to sneak beer into my friend’s pool house. I’ve seen one too many engagement rings since I’ve returned. The funny part is, I can’t fathom them wanting to spend the rest of their days with that one person and they think my move to LA is a waste of MY best years. Perspective is a funny little shit. I may not have grown up completely but I want to have these crazy adventures, meet others not like me and grow into the person I want to be. Miami was one step closer and I am itching for the West Coast. Work hard, Play Hard, meet a few losers, a few winners, not sleep, hike, drink, write, work a shitty job… whatever LA has in store, I can’t wait.

There is something extremely depressing about waking up and thinking you are in Miami but actually you are in your childhood bed. The bed that has a Mickey figure on top of a reel of film on your nightstand. Sorry to disappoint you Mickey, but I do not have a job. Let alone apartment hunting in LA when you are not physically there is practically impossible. On the plus side, Momma makes me tea and I hopefully won’t be spending much money the next few weeks.
